WELCOME TO THE EXELON SPOTLIGHT

The Newest Innovation in Spotlight Technology

My name is Bogdan Les, and I am the founder and director of Exelon Electrics Ltd. I have been a qualified electrician since 2018 and established Exelon Electrics Ltd in 2020. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of delivering high-quality electrical services across London, focusing mainly on high-end residential properties and commercial premises.

One of the most common requests I receive is to design, install and maintain lighting circuit systems, particularly spotlight installations. In fact, replacing outdated spotlights with modern and contemporary designs has been one of the main priorities for many of my clients.

To date, I have installed over 4,000 spotlights which makes me something of an expert. Having installed so many spotlights, I’ve identified several recurring design issues with existing models, including problems with the springs that hold them in place, poorly designed junction boxes and aesthetics that leave a lot to be desired. Let’s explore this trio of issues in more detail

CHALLENGES WITH UNEVEN CEILINGS & SPOTLIGHT INSTALLATION

The first issue that I identified stems from the fact that many buildings in London were constructed post-war, meaning walls and ceilings are often not perfectly straight, square or level. This becomes a significant challenge when replacing spotlights.

With traditional spring-designed spotlights, uneven ceilings stop the springs from pulling the light tightly against the surface, leaving an unsightly gap around the edge. To address this, some electricians resort to using decorative caulk around the light’s edge. However, this creates additional problems when the spotlight needs replacing, as removing the caulk can strip paint from the ceiling, causing frustration for both the electrician and the client.

It’s a less-than-ideal solution that complicates future work and detracts from the clean and professional finish that clients expect for their spotlights.

LIMITED SPOTLIGHT COLOUR OPTIONS

The second flaw of traditional spotlights lies in the limited design options available for spotlights. Working closely with interior designers, I’m often asked about colour options for spotlights. Unfortunately, the spotlight industry seems to offer only two standard finishes – white and chrome.

While there are a few online retailers offering spotlights in different colours, the quality is often below par, and the product doesn’t always match what was advertised. This leads to delays, expensive returns and a poor customer experience. For clients seeking diverse, high-quality designs, the lack of available options makes achieving the desired aesthetic unnecessarily challenging.

Junction Box Design Problems

The third flaw lies in the junction box design itself. Over the years, I’ve worked with a range of spotlight makes and models, but a common problem still occurs – the junction boxes are far too small. This limited space makes wiring incredibly difficult, especially when working on circuits with multiple spotlights. This issue can be fixed, but it requires the installation of a larger external junction box to connect all the lights, and then fishing a cable through to each spotlight’s junction box.

If you’re an electrician, you’ve likely done this too and you’ll understand that it’s a frustrating and time-consuming process that highlights a major flaw in current spotlight designs.

LIMITED SPOTLIGHT COLOUR OPTIONS

Exelon Electrics proudly presents a modern advancement in spotlight technology. I have developed the Exelon Spotlight, which is designed to address these common flaws by combining practicality, aesthetics and innovation to deliver a superior spotlight solution. Whether it’s uneven ceilings, limited colour options or junction box issues, the Exelon Spotlight offers a stylish and efficient solution that transforms how spotlights are installed and enjoyed.

But what sets the Exelon Spotlight apart? Let’s take a look

Aesthetic & Functional Housing

Traditional spotlights rely on springs to hold them in place, but over time, these springs weaken and leave unsightly gaps that impact the overall aesthetics. The Exelon Spotlight shines a new light with our unique screw-fixed housing. This spring-free design ensures a perfect fit, every time. No springs, no gaps, no compromising your aesthetic vision. The Exelon Spotlight provides a durable and reliable solution that keeps your spotlight looking flawless for years to come.

Tool-Free Junction Box Design

At the core of our new spotlight design is a tool-free junction box. This innovative addition allows you to say goodbye to the hassle of tools. With an advanced lever connector, users can experience quick and secure installation – no tools required. And with the ability to power three spotlights per circuit, connectivity has never been so simple. This streamlined design saves time and ensures a hassle-free experience for electricians and homeowners alike.

Interchangeable Bezel Design

Unlike traditional spotlights, the Exelon Spotlight offers complete customisation. Our clip-and-twist bezel design means that you can effortlessly switch between an extensive range of colour options. From bold blues and pretty pinks to natural greens and even stylish golds, the Exelon Spotlight offers endless possibilities. This flexibility allows clients to match their spotlights perfectly to their interior style, creating a personalised and cohesive design.
